Here's what you can find in these areas:

ansi tape utility (in ./uw/ansitar)
	handles ansi labeled magnetic tapes.

detex, delatex (in ./trickey)
Similar function to deroff. Removes TeX or LaTeX constructs
from the input, placing the result on the output.
See ./kamal for an improved and more powerful detex.

emacs TeX mode (in ./trickey/emacsmacro)
	TeX mode for Gosling's Emacs.

fontbl.tex (in ./uw/fontbl)
prints out what is in a particular font.

hptex (in ./miscellaneous)
a set of macros developed by Hewlett-Packard sites.
Pretty general, but its view of the file system is
not guaranteed to be Unix. Good system of annotation
	available to explain the macros.

kamal (in ./kamal)
detex, texexpand, texmatch, texeqn, texspell. Programs
to allow a fast check of the source file before actually
running TeX. \input and \include files are checked in
	their proper places.

troff_to_tex. A conversion program for troff documents
produced with either ms or man macros. Output is LaTeX
	with some raw TeX.

cellular.tex (in ./pittman)
	J. E. Pittman's general table making macros. A substitute
	for \halign-based tables.

profile.web (in ./miscellaneous)
Donald Knuth's profiler for pascal. Not ported to Unix.

rst conversion programs (in ./salkind)
Converts font files from pxl to rst format for use on Imagen
	laser printers.

r2bib (in ./rusty/r2bib)
Converts refer format bibliographies into bibtex format.

s2latex (in ./van/s2latex)
	Converts from Scribe to LaTeX.

sauter (in ./sauter)
Scripts to produce Computer Modern in a wide variety of
sizes. That is, true CMR11, rather than CMR10 scaled.

TeX for troff users (in ./urban/textroff)
A TeX primer for troff users. Slightly out of date.

tib	(in ./tib)
A bibliography system based on refer. Works with TeX
	as well as with LaTeX.

tgrind (in ./van/tgrind)
Performs the same function as vgrind but using TeX instead of
troff. (Prints "nice" listings of programs.)

tr2tex	(see kamal) A troff to TeX converter.
