The values of band width and optical parameters of dust considered
in this study are shown in Table 5.
The 5-11.6 μm infrared dust opacity is
obtained by dividing the visible dust opacity by the visible to
infrared opacity ratio , which is set to be 2. (Forget, 1998).
The 20-200 μm infrared dust opacity is calculated by using and the value of
shown in Table 5.
The reason why the infrared dust opacity is not derived by using
equation (A.51)
directly is that the visible to infrared opacity ratio calculated
by using the extinction efficiency listed in table 5 does not agree
with observation results well (Zurek,1982).
The disagreement results from that the properties of dust whose
extinction effect in visible wavelength is larger than that in
infrared are not revealed (Zurek,
1982; Forget ,1998).
